PSEUDONYMS RUN RAMPANT on FacebookAmong the most disappointing online phenomena these days are the vast usage of anonymous names and authors of conspiracies associating them with the Great and Holy Council. Many choosing anonymity found in an online pseudonyms rather than the dignity of having a position or choosing honorable dialogue. |
A recent explosion of reports; allegedly exposing the ROMFEA news agency of blatantly using the name Juan Valdez, a pseudonym, and recent sponsor of its website. This "Juan" inciting anti-council news reports and even using images with romfea logo before they were published online. Coincidence?
Many identify the site as a sensationalized tabloid on par with the Enquirer or the Star. Utilizing Facebook and joining forces with clergy closely tied to a bishop from Piraeus, who has over the last few months been vocal against the Great and Holy Council. The Facebook group administered by Fr Peter Heers has many members utilizing obvious pseudonyms and includes many 'non-canonical' (schismatics) who have very little love loss for the Ecumenical Patriarch or for this unanimously agreed Synod. They sow hatred and spew lies about the Council.
